Sunnyvale offers room to stretch your legs and find some solitude, with the Sunnyvale Bay Trail giving you plenty of flat ground to see birds, squirrels, and bunnies. Las Palmas Park is another great spot to picnic, exercise the pooch, play tennis, or simply relax in the shade.

The Sunnyvale Farmer’s Market—which happens every Saturday—takes up a whole block on Murphy Street and is a charming place to get your week’s fresh produce. For a quirkier afternoon, stop by the Lace Museum to see a regularly changing exhibit of intricate handiwork—from wedding gowns, to christening dresses and beyond. Hikers and bikers will enjoy the numerous wetland trails at the Baylands Park, where wildlife is a colorful and consistent part of the scenery.
