Espresso Yourself in this Urban Paradise: Dexter Apartments in Seattle
At Dexter you're just a hop, skip, and a latte from downtown and all the wonderfully hip, happenings that keep Seattleites on the cutting-edge of so many trends - from green building to grunge music. Dexter brings you into the heartbeat of Seattle - made more rapid by its resident's reputation for heavy coffee consumption. Starbucks, Seattle's Best, and Tully's were born here plus a many other independent artisan espresso companies. And Dexter is BUILT SMART™ certified: Its design incorporates resource efficient features like extra insulation in its floors, walls, and ceilings, energy saving doors, windows, lighting, and water heaters, along with low-flow plumbing. Recycled building materials were used for construction. Dexter gives you urban proximity with condo-like amenities. From beautifully landscaped common areas to the latest high-tech equipment in sound and cinema. When was the last time you were able to host a Friday night barbeque that ended with a viewing of Ghostbusters in a lavish dozen-seat personal surround sound movie theater?
At Dexter you're just minutes from the thriving vibrant scene of Seattle Center, Key Arena, the Seattle Space Needle, Pacific Science Center, The Experience Music Project (a wonderfully fluid, amorphous metal building designed by Frank Gehry where you can play in your own virtual rock band), Boeing IMAX Theater, and Marion Oliver McCaw Hall - home to the Pacific Northwest Ballet. You're close to all sorts of employers at Dexter; Boeing of course which made the city tick and technology giants Microsoft, Amazon.com, RealNetworks, T-Mobile that keep it humming. The Seattle Center Monorail constructed for Century 21 still runs from Seattle Center to Westlake Center, a downtown shopping mall a little over a mile to the southeast. Seattle is second only to New York for number of equity theaters and home to musical artists such as Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Kenny G, Heart, heavy metal band Queen and is the birthplace of Jimi Hendrix. The modern art in The Henry Art Gallery is a must-see and also the Seattle Art Museum's Olympic Sculpture Park (opened 2007) on the waterfront north of the downtown piers.
For those more sports-minded aficionados, Safeco Field, where the Seattle Mariners and Ichiro hold court, is within walking distance of downtown. And you can run, not walk the 3-mile trail that loops nearby Green Lake Park. Other parks surround the lake and you can bike or hike through and to them all: North Passage Point Park, South Passage Point Park, Fairview, Terry Pettus, and South Lake Union Park. Or to commune with nature and try out your new REI daypack, the Cascades and nearby Olympic Mountains await for skiing, snowboarding, and hiking. Boating, kayaking and sailing the surrounding waters of Puget Sound, the Strait of Juan de Fuca, and the Strait of Georgia is all just a part of a normal weekend around here. And Seattle's University of Washington is just over the hill, rated the twenty-second best university in the world. Interstate 5 and SR 99 pass through downtown Seattle. But if you would rather live car-light, King County Metro provides frequent-stop bus service within the city and surrounding county and a streetcar line between South Lake Union and Westlake Center, the South Lake Union Streetcar. Ride one of the electric trolleybuses - they're really a kick and you'll do a double-take the first time you see one. SeaTac Airport is just south of the city for business travel or that well-deserved vacation.
